About the Role:

The Customs Clearance Supervisor will lead and oversee all customs clearance activities for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with UAE customs regulations and Free Zone requirements. This role is critical in driving timely shipment processing, resolving clearance challenges, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the customs clearance team to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Review and validate import/export documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with customs authorities, Free Zone authorities, brokers, and shipping agents to resolve clearance issues promptly.
  • Track clearance performance KPIs, ensuring shipments are processed within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of customs laws, tariff classifications (HS codes), and regulatory changes.
  • Handle escalations related to shipment holds, duty disputes, or inspection delays.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to enhance knowledge and performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments (transport, warehouse, finance) to ensure end-to-end operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly clearance reports for senior management.
  • Drive process improvements to reduce delays and optimize customs-related workflows.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related field .
  • 3–5 years of experience in customs clearance, with at least 1 years in a supervisory role .
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE customs procedures , Free Zone operations, and import/export documentation requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills with the ability to handle escalations effectively.
  • Proficiency in customs systems such as Dubai Trade, Mirsal 2, and Free Zone platforms .
  • Excellent communication skills in English ; Arabic i s a plus.
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
