Role Summary

Dataself is ChaiVision's core reporting platform, and it currently has no dedicated administrator. Platform configuration, user access, data connections, and day-to-day upkeep are handled reactively — when someone has time. That creates silent risk: stale connections, unreviewed access, and platform drift that only surfaces when something breaks.

This role exists to change that. The Dataself Admin will own the health, security, and operational stability of the Dataself platform end-to-end — ensuring data source connections stay active and accurate, user access is properly governed, and the reporting environment the entire organization depends on runs reliably every single day.

What You'll Do

Platform Administration & Access Management

Own the day-to-day administration of the Dataself platform — user management, access controls, and permissions
Manage the onboarding and offboarding of Dataself users — creating accounts, assigning roles, and revoking access when needed
Conduct regular user access reviews to ensure permissions align with current team structures and responsibilities
Maintain platform configuration settings and ensure environment consistency across development and production

Data Source Monitoring & Health Checks

Maintain and monitor all data source connections in Dataself, ensuring feeds from SellerCloud, Sage Intacct, and other sources remain active and accurate
Perform regular platform health checks: connection uptime, scheduled job status, and data freshness validation
Check all data source connection statuses and scheduled job completions daily, flagging anomalies immediately
Proactively identify and resolve data pipeline issues before they impact downstream reporting

Vendor Coordination & Platform Support

Liaise with Dataself support for platform-level bugs, upgrades, and configuration assistance
Coordinate with the Dataself Reports Developer on environment-level issues that affect report output
Support the Director of Data & BI with platform capacity planning and vendor management
Stay current on Dataself platform updates, patches, and new features to ensure the organization benefits from the latest capabilities

Documentation & Governance

Maintain an admin log documenting all platform changes, access modifications, and incident resolutions
Submit weekly platform health summaries to the Director of Data & BI along with user access request queue reviews
Complete monthly full access audits, connection health reviews, and admin log submissions
Support quarterly platform configuration reviews, vendor engagement for upgrades, and capacity assessments

Who You Are

You are methodical — platform administration requires consistency, not creativity, and you bring disciplined attention to routine operational tasks
You have SQL working knowledge — enough to understand data connections and diagnose query-level issues when something breaks
You are proactive about system health — you do not wait for things to break before checking on them, and you monitor platform vitals daily
You have administered a SaaS platform before — managing users, permissions, and configurations in a structured, documented way
You communicate clearly when something is wrong and escalate before it becomes critical, keeping stakeholders informed without unnecessary noise
You document everything — every configuration change, every access grant, every connection update gets logged and tracked

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Administration, or a related field
2+ years of experience administering a SaaS or BI platform (Dataself, Power BI Service, Tableau Server, or equivalent)
Working knowledge of SQL — ability to read queries, understand data connections, and diagnose basic query-level issues
Experience managing user access, permissions, and role-based access controls in enterprise platforms
Familiarity with data pipeline concepts and data source connection management (SellerCloud, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP/e-commerce systems is a plus)
Strong documentation habits and a track record of maintaining accurate admin logs and change records
