The Career and Advising Center is looking for an innovative Coordinator for Degree Completion to join our team. In this role you’ll make an impact in helping students finish their degree. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty, staff and other stakeholders to make this happen.

Details:

Academic Support:

  • Meet with prospective students to explore academic options and design personalized pathways to graduation based on prior coursework and career goals.
  • Guide students through the re-enrollment process, including assistance with applications, navigating technology platforms, course registration, and connecting with academic advisors.
  • Collaborate with faculty and advising staff across campus to ensure students receive accurate guidance on curriculum requirements and progression as well as address barriers that may affect degree completion.
  • Monitor student progress toward degree completion, identifying potential challenges and providing timely support or referrals as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to the Office of Registration and Records (R&R) regarding student milestones, academic standing, and anticipated graduation dates.
  • Implement best practices related to working with stop-out and non-traditional students.
  • Meet with students to assess and identify the most effective prior learning options that support their academic and degree completion goals.
  • Oversee the administrative process for awarding academic credit based on prior learning, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to facilitate the evaluation and approval of prior learning experiences, including work-based learning, certifications, military training, and other relevant experiences.
  • Develop and maintain resources and guidance materials to assist students in preparing and submitting prior learning portfolios for review.


Recruitment:

  • In collaboration with Reup; Identify, recruit, and re-engage former students who have not yet completed their degrees, using data-informed strategies and personalized outreach.
  • Collaborate with University Relations, Office of Admission, and other recruitment partners to design and execute targeted marketing campaigns, ensuring that promotional materials and web content are accurate, engaging, and regularly updated.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students, providing clear, individualized guidance on available degree completion pathways, program options, and enrollment processes.
  • Manage communication and outreach efforts within TargetX, leveraging CRM tools to track engagement, follow up with leads, and maintain consistent contact with prospective and returning students


Financial Aid Support:

  • Provide individualized financial aid counseling for incoming students, ensuring they fully understand their aid options and scholarship benefits.
  • Serve as a primary resource on federal, state, institutional, public, and private financial aid programs.
  • Run and interpret financial aid reports specifically for students to monitor their status and ensure barriers or issues are addressed quickly.
  • Collaborate closely and consistently with the Financial Aid and Scholarships and One Stop departments.

Assessment:

  • Utilize student data to analyze retention trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop implement, and assess comprehensive retention strategies tailored to the unique needs of adult learners.
  • Prepare regular reports, registration statistics, and related metrics for review.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to processes and services based on feedback and data analysis.

Work Schedule:

  • Academic Year Hours: Monday-Friday: 8am-5pm

  • Summer and Break Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:30am-4pm

  • Occasional evening and weekend hours throughout the year

Hiring Range: $50,000-$55,000

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, Student Affairs, Psychology or related field

  • 2+ years of student engagement on a college campus (can include work/volunteer experience as an undergraduate)

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Experience in building successful collaborations

  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem-solving

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience in utilizing various assessment strategies

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in student support, academic advising or related role

  • Experience with federal financial aid and scholarships
