Dental Office Front Desk

Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Dental Office Front Desk Coordinator to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency with dental and medical software systems, and a strong understanding of healthcare administrative procedures. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred to ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient service.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers
  • Collect payments, process billing, and handle medical collections as needed
  • Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette and assist with patient inquiries
  • Maintain accurate patient records in record system
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including intake forms and medical histories
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality
  • Assist with insurance verification, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and documentation review for billing purposes
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies
  • Support office management activities to ensure efficient daily operations within the dental clinic setting

Experience

  • Prior experience in a dental or medical front desk role is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and health information management systems
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software experience is advantageous
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and digital documentation management
  • Knowledge of insurance verification processes and medical billing procedures including Medicare claims processing
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
  • Previous clinic or healthcare administrative support experience is desirable to ensure smooth workflow and exceptional patient care delivery

Pay: $25.00 per hour
