Dental Patient Coordinator Job Description
The Dental Patient Coordinator is responsible for creating an exceptional patient experience from the first phone call through treatment completion. This role manages scheduling, patient communication, insurance verification, financial coordination, and treatment follow-up while ensuring smooth daily office flow. The coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for patients, helping them understand appointments, treatment recommendations, and payment options. Common responsibilities across current dental postings include check-in, payment collection, records management, and helping keep the schedule full.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out
  • Schedule appointments and maintain daily schedule flow
  • Verify insurance benefits and coverage
  • Present treatment plans and financial options
  • Collect copays and patient balances
  • Confirm appointments and manage follow-up calls
  • Coordinate referrals and patient records
  • Ensure a positive, professional patient experience

Qualifications

  • 1+ years dental front desk or patient coordination experience preferred
  • Knowledge of dental insurance and scheduling workflows
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Experience with dental software
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and patient-focused

Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
