Qualification & Experience:
Essential:
- MS Library Sciences/ IT/ CS/ Engineering/ Education or any related field from HEC recognized local / foreign university / institute with (12) years of relevant experience in any reputable organization.
Desirable:
- PhD from an HEC recognized local / foreign university / institute.
- Relevant experience in designing and managing modern library systems, with a proven record of designing co-curricular activities to engage students, faculty, and larger community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee digitization activities and the development and maintenance of digital repositories.
- Formulate and implement policies and procedures for technical operations and circulation.
- Implement international standards for the technical processing of library resources.
- Conduct library orientation sessions and guided visits for freshmen and visitors.
- Address queries from faculty, students, officers, and staff regarding library resources and services.
- Supervise automation and circulation workflows.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all library databases, software, equipment, and regular data backups.
- Generate and maintain statistics for technical services, automation, digitization, and circulation.
- Conduct and supervise annual stocktaking, including write-off of unserviceable materials, and submit proceedings.
- Supervise issue/return operations, reservations, overdue notices, fines, and clearance for outgoing library members.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate staff in technical, automation, digitization, and circulation sections.
- Assign duties and ensure efficient workflow management across the designated sections.
- Maintain and update the Central Library website in coordination with the System Administrator.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Chief Librarian.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must be cognizant of the evolving role of libraries in digital age, and the requirements of the next generation of library users.
- Good communication, presentation, and management skills.
Training/Certification:
Individual having certification/ expertise in library management will be preferred.

- Candidates are required to attach scanned copies of their documents (Academics /Professional).
- Last education certificate/degree must be attested/verified by HEC.
Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:
- 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
- NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
- In process of pursuing a required degree.
- Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
- Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply after seeking NOC from their respective parent department / organizations.
- Late / incomplete applications will be ignored.
- Only short-listed candidates will be considered / called for test / interview and no TA / DA will be admissible.
