Job Title: Deputy General Manager

Reports To: Chief Commercial Officer

Location : Doha, Qatar
Job Purpose

The Deputy General Manager is responsible for business development, marketing, design project management, project delivery, and the overall successful performance of the company. The role provides strong leadership to ensure that teams operate collaboratively and efficiently. This position is accountable for maintaining a productive, cost-effective work environment while enhancing the company’s brand and reputation as a leader in design.

Key Relationships

Internal: Direct Team, Executive Committee, Management Team, Procurement
External: Contractors, Suppliers, Developers, Government Departments

Authorities
  • Represent the company in matters requiring interaction with government agencies and regulatory authorities.

  • Review and approve petty cash expenditures.

  • Review and approve accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payment according to agreed terms.

  • Serve as an ambassador for the company within the wider business community.

  • Act as the Consultant’s Representative on project works when required.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
  • Support the CCO in driving the company’s strategic objectives.

  • Provide leadership across all teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Oversee business development, marketing initiatives, and proposal strategies.

  • Lead and manage design project workflows, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.

  • Ensure efficient and cost-effective operational performance across all functions.

Project & Design Management
  • Oversee planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of design and project activities.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Financial & Commercial Responsibilities
  • Manage budgets responsibly and ensure cost control across projects and departments.

  • Review and approve financial transactions, including vendor invoices and operational expenses.

  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth and improved profitability.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor, guide, and support staff to ensure high performance and strong teamwork.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.

  • Address performance issues proactively and ensure adherence to company policies and values.

External Relations & Representation
  • Maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, developers, and government entities.

  • Represent the company professionally at official meetings, events, and regulatory discussions.

  • Safeguard the company’s reputation through ethical conduct and professional engagement.
