Design & Estimation Officer

The Estimation and Design Officer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, creating technical designs, and providing detailed drawings for wire mesh, fencing, and related products. This role ensures that projects are cost-effective, feasible, and aligned with client specifications while supporting sales and project teams with technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:1. Estimation Duties

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for new projects, including material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop precise quotations.
• Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to ensure cost efficiency and competitiveness.
• Maintain a database of material costs, labor rates, and standard pricing for quick reference.
• Assist in pricing negotiations with clients and contractors.
• Review project budgets and monitor any deviations to avoid cost overruns.

2. Design Duties

• Prepare technical drawings and designs for fencing, wire mesh, and related structures.
• Use AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other relevant software to produce detailed layouts.
• Develop 2D and 3D drawings as per project requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with UAE construction standards, safety codes, and company specifications.
• Coordinate with project teams to incorporate practical and cost-effective solutions.
• Modify existing designs based on client feedback or project requirements.

3. Coordination & Support

• Work closely with Project Managers, Sales, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Assist in technical presentations and client meetings when required.
• Provide technical guidance to production or fabrication teams regarding design specifications.
• Support sales team by preparing design visuals for proposals and tenders.

4. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain detailed records of estimates, designs, and revisions.
• Prepare regular reports on estimation trends, material consumption, and project costs.
• Ensure all documentation is compliant with company policies and project standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in estimation, design, or project support in construction, fencing, or manufacturing industry.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, or similar design software.
• Strong understanding of cost estimation, material take-offs, and project budgeting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
