Design Team Lead – Aluminum & Façade (Qatar)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Design Team Lead – Aluminum & Façade to lead and manage façade design operations for high-rise and large-scale construction projects in Qatar. The ideal candidate will oversee the complete design process, ensure compliance with project specifications and local standards, and lead a team of designers and draftsmen to deliver accurate and efficient façade solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the façade design team including engineers, designers, and draftsmen
• Oversee design development from concept to detailed shop drawings
• Review and approve:
• Shop drawings
• Fabrication drawings
• Material submittals and BOQs
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and Qatar regulations (QCS)
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, structural and MEP teams
• Handle design calculations (wind load, thermal movement, structural performance)
• Manage façade system selection (curtain wall, cladding, skylights, doors & windows)
• Lead value engineering and cost optimization during design stages
• Attend client meetings, design reviews, and technical discussions
• Ensure timely submission of drawings and approvals
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the design team
• Support project execution teams during installation and site activities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or Architecture
• 10–15 years of experience in aluminum & façade design
• Minimum 4–6 years in a leadership role
• Strong experience in:
• Curtain wall systems
• Aluminum windows & doors
• Cladding systems (ACP, glass, stone)
• Expertise in:
• AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks / Inventor (preferred)
• Façade design and detailing
• Strong knowledge of:
• Wind load calculations & structural analysis
• International standards (ASTM, BS, EN)
• Experience in Qatar or GCC projects (preferred)

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: QAR10,000.00 - QAR12,000.00 per month
