Director of Finance

Nokona American Ballgloves is seeking a Director of Finance to lead all financial areas of the company, as well as contribute to multiple aspects of operations. A well-established manufacturer of baseball gloves and premium leather goods, Nokona has a team of approximately 50 employees in Texas who is focused on quality, consistency, and long-term growth. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on finance leader to oversee the company’s financial operations while partnering closely with our manufacturing team. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with the CEO and gain increasing exposure to operational leadership over time.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and analytical finance professional who can go beyond reporting to influence the business, working closely with the factory General Manager and Executive Vice-President to impact day-to-day operations. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the mindset to leverage technology and systems to improve efficiency, decision-making, and quality.

Responsibility

  • Lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow planning
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and long-term financial plans
  • Lead cost accounting efforts, including product costing, margin analysis, and inventory analysis/valuation
  • Provide financial insight into manufacturing performance, including cost analysis, labor efficiency, and margin improvement
  • Support inventory management, procurement, and supply chain decision-making
  • Serve as an advisor to the CEO and ownership on financial performance and planning
  • Build a strong understanding of manufacturing operations to support broader responsibilities over time

Qualifications

  • CPA or MBA
  • 10 years of high-level accounting experience
  • Experience in a small-to-mid-sized manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting and manufacturing operations
  • Hands-on approach with strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity, sense of urgency, and accountability
  • Experience using technology to improve processes and visibility

Requirements

  • Full-time, on-site presence required for the first 2 months
  • Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of Nocona, Texas
  • Hybrid schedule (up to 2 remote days per week) available after initial onboarding
