Director of Internal Audit

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Internal Audit Director to lead and strengthen our internal audit function. This role will oversee all verticals within internal audit, including Construction, IT Audit, and Technical/Engineering. The Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring governance, risk management, and control frameworks are robust and aligned with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the internal audit function with independence, integrity, and a risk-based approach.
• Develop and execute the annual internal audit plan in alignment with organizational priorities.
• Provide strategic insights and recommendations directly to the Audit Committee.

Operational Oversight

• Supervise audit activities across Construction and IT verticals.
• Manage a multi-disciplinary audit team including Managers, Senior Managers, Assistant Managers, and Technical Auditors.
• Ensure audits are executed effectively, adding measurable value and driving process improvements.

Governance & Compliance

• Safeguard compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
• Champion ethical conduct and corporate governance across all business units.
• Identify, assess, and monitor enterprise-wide risks and recommend mitigating actions.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with senior leadership and business units to strengthen internal controls.
• Foster trust-based relationships with external auditors, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Present audit findings and strategic recommendations to the Audit Committee.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Professional certification: CIA, CPA, ACCA, or CA (mandatory).
• Minimum 15 years of internal audit experience , with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in construction and IT audit environments .
• Strong knowledge of risk management, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
