Role Description
The Director of Learning & Development is responsible for shaping and leading a best-in-class learning culture across the resort. This role ensures all learning initiatives support operational excellence, brand standards, leadership capability, and long-term talent development. Acting as a strategic partner to Resort Leadership and HR, the Director drives learning frameworks that enhance guest experience, colleague engagement, and business performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, Hospitality, or a related field
- 8-12 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, preferably within luxury hospitality
- Proven experience designing and leading large-scale learning strategies and leadership programs
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and digital learning ecosystems
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and executive presentation skills
Key Responsibilities Learning Strategy & Governance
- Define and execute the resort's Learning & Development strategy aligned with brand values, service philosophy, and business objectives
- Establish learning frameworks, competency models, and capability standards across all departments
- Ensure consistency and excellence across onboarding, service culture, and leadership development initiatives
Leadership & Talent Development
- Design and oversee leadership development programs, succession planning, and high-potential identification
- Partner with Resort Leadership to build strong management and future leadership pipelines
- Support coaching, mentoring, and performance development initiatives
Learning Design & Innovation
- Oversee the design and quality of all learning content, blended learning solutions, and digital platforms
- Champion innovative learning approaches, including experiential, on-the-job, and technology-enabled learning
- Ensure all learning reflects luxury brand standards and guest experience expectations
Measurement & Impact
- Establish KPIs and evaluation frameworks to measure learning effectiveness and ROI
- Analyze performance data and feedback to continuously improve learning outcomes
- Provide regular reporting and insights to Executive Leadership
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as the primary L&D partner to Department Heads and Corporate teams
- Manage external training partners and learning vendors
- Oversee L&D budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery
