Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Dog Walker and Drop-in sitter to other critters to join our pet care team. This role involves providing exceptional outdoor exercise and companionship for dogs of various breeds and sizes, ensuring their safety and well-being during walks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent handling skills, and experience in pet care or veterinary settings. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where animal welfare is the top priority. This is not a seasonal position. We pride ourselves on a very personable bases with our clients. Must live near close or in proximity of Saratoga Springs.

Duties

• Lead daily walks with dogs, ensuring they are safely restrained and supervised at all times
• Monitor dog behavior and respond appropriately to ensure safety for both animals and people
• Provide basic training reinforcement during walks, such as leash manners or commands
• Assist with pet sitting duties when needed, including feeding, administering medication, or light grooming
• Maintain clean equipment and ensure walking areas are free of hazards
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pet’s behavior or needs
• Handle animals with gentle restraint techniques and provide comfort as needed
• Support team members with additional pet care responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care preferred
• Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus
• Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles highly desirable
• Experience with animal restraint, grooming, and heavy lifting required for handling larger dogs or multiple animals
• Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and walk long distances
• Compassionate attitude towards animals and attention to their individual needs
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license preferred

Must live in Saratoga County. Most walks and drop-ins are done from 9 a.m to 7pm. This is a 1099 position and work can vary week to week!

Pay: $100.00 - $500.00 per week
