Dump Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other heavy-duty vehicles with precision, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Load and unload materials such as gravel, debris, or freight efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary.
• Drive route-specific deliveries, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs at designated locations while maintaining accurate logs of mileage and cargo.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections on vehicles to identify potential issues and ensure optimal operational condition before each shift.
• Maintain clear communication with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any vehicle concerns.
• Assist with securing loads properly to prevent shifting during transit and ensure compliance with weight limits.
• Support site cleanup and material handling tasks as needed to promote a safe and organized work environment.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving, including commercial driving licenses (CDL) with endorsements for dump trucks, flatbeds, tanker trucks, or refrigerated trailers.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance routines.
• Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other lifting equipment when required.
• Familiarity with route driving strategies to optimize delivery times while ensuring safety.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to freight handling, load securing, and vehicle inspections.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules or routes in a fast-paced environment.
