Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Dump Truck Driver and take charge of transporting materials efficiently and safely across various job sites. Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks with manual transmission or other specified vehicle types to transport materials safely across designated routes.
- Load and unload materials at various locations, ensuring proper handling and securement of freight.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, routes taken, and hours worked for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
- Assist with loading or unloading freight using additional equipment such as wheel loaders and/or skid loaders when necessary.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or roll-off trucks.
- Familiarity with manual transmission operation preferred.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Experience driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or freight delivery routes is a plus.
- Knowledge of route planning and route driving best practices to optimize delivery times.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to freight handling and vehicle operation.
