Electrical BIM Draftsman

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical BIM Draftsman with strong skills in 3D modeling, perspective visualization, and multi-discipline coordination. The role involves creating accurate electrical BIM models for substation and utility projects, coordinating across engineering disciplines, and producing detailed construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage 3D electrical BIM models for substations and related projects.
• Create 3D perspectives and visualizations for presentations and design reviews.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to resolve clashes and ensure design accuracy.
• Produce detailed layouts, cable routing plans, lighting layouts, and panel schedules.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and BIM execution plans.
• Maintain organized model files and version control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience in electrical BIM modeling.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks (Bentley Substation or MicroStation is a plus).
• Experience creating 3D perspectives using tools such as 3ds Max, Lumion, or Enscape is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, substation layouts, and technical drawings.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment under tight deadlines.
