Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating, directing, and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all plant equipment, machinery, and facilities. This role ensures optimal equipment reliability, safety, and performance through effective preventive maintenance, process improvement, and leadership of the maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement maintenance and reliability systems across the plant, including Preventive Maintenance (PM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Workplace Organization.

  • Provide training and guidance to engineers and technicians on maintenance techniques, job safety, and procedures such as Lockout & Tagout (LOTO).

  • Conduct breakdown analysis, develop corrective and preventive action plans, and ensure implementation.

  • Drive in-house development of imported spare parts and manage vendor development for key components.

  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.

  • Identify and execute equipment upgrades for process optimization and de-bottlenecking.

  • Oversee SAP implementation for maintenance management and documentation.

  • Enforce OSHA standards and safety practices to achieve a zero-injury work culture.

  • Inspect equipment installations and construction work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.

  • Supervise maintenance personnel involved in equipment installation, repair, and preventive maintenance activities.

  • Serve as a hands-on leader, providing support in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise employees within the Maintenance Department.

  • Coordinate with Operations and HR on staffing, performance management, and training needs.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, and addressing employee issues in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field.

  • Experience: 5–10 years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance, plant reliability, and team leadership.

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and maintenance management software (e.g., SAP).

  • Understanding of probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry for maintenance planning and analysis.

  • Familiar with maintenance documentation, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety manuals, and engineering specifications.

  • Able to prepare reports, business correspondence, and present information effectively to management and teams.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, or handle tools and materials.

  • May need to lift or move items up to 25 pounds.

  • Must have depth perception and the ability to adjust visual focus for detailed work.

Work Environment

  • Industrial or manufacturing plant setting.

  • May require occasional extended hours to support maintenance or emergency repairs.
