Job Description

Alaska Gear Company is continuing to grow our team of driven outdoor professionals. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Email Marketing Specialist to help us connect with our customers through compelling, high-performing email campaigns.

This role plays a key part in how we communicate with our audience. From product launches and seasonal promotions to storytelling campaigns that highlight the gear we build and the environments it was made for. You will be responsible for planning, building, and optimizing email campaigns that engage our customers and drive e-commerce growth.

Working closely with the Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll help turn brand stories into powerful email campaigns supported by blog content, product launches, and integrated marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage email campaigns including newsletters, promotions, product launches, and announcements.
• Write compelling subject lines, email copy, and callstoaction while designing visually engaging email layouts.
• Manage subscriber lists, segmentation strategies, and email compliance requirements.
• Build and maintain automated email flows such as welcome series, abandoned cart campaigns, and lifecycle messaging.
• Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, content, and send timing to improve performance.
• Monitor email metrics and report on campaign performance, engagement, and revenue impact.
• Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to create supporting blog pages that align with narrative email campaigns.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, product marketing, content marketing, or graphic design.
• Working knowledge of Klaviyo or similar email marketing platforms.
• Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for email templates.
• Experience using data and analytics tools to track and optimize campaign performance.
• Strong writing and visual design skills with attention to brand voice and messaging.
