Employee Relations & Engagement Specialist

The Employee Relations & Engagement Specialist will be responsible for managing employee relations across all brands under Chinese Palace Group, ensuring fair and consistent practices that align with company policies and UAE labor law. This role will handle incident reports, disciplinary actions, grievance management, probationary reviews, and end-of-contract renewal interviews. In addition, the specialist will design and implement employee engagement initiatives that enhance workplace culture, improve retention, and foster belonging across the organization. The role also provides administrative support to ensure smooth HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, investigate, and document employee incident reports across all brands.
  • Recommend and administer disciplinary actions in alignment with company policy and UAE labor law.
  • Provide guidance to managers on handling employee misconduct, grievances, and performance issues.
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring concerns are addressed fairly, promptly, and confidentially.
  • Investigate and resolve workplace conflicts, complaints, and disciplinary matters in line with UAE labor law and company policies.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations matters, ensuring consistent and legally compliant practices.
  • Support policy interpretation, grievance handling, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential ER documentation, case logs, disciplinary outcomes and reports.
  • Conduct probationary performance reviews in collaboration with operations managers to ensure new employees meet role expectations.
  • Organize and conduct end-of-contract renewal interviews, providing recommendations on renewal, non-renewal, or progression.
  • Track and manage timelines for probationary periods and contract renewals to ensure compliance with internal policies and labor law.
  • Assist in designing and implementing engagement programs that enhance morale, recognition, and retention.
  • Plan and support company-wide activities, wellness initiatives, and recognition events.
  • Coordinate and analyze employee engagement surveys, identifying trends and recommending action plans.
  • Promote inclusion, belonging, and a positive employee experience across a diverse workforce.
  • Support onboarding and orientation programs to ensure successful integration of new employees.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues across Compensation & Benefits, L&D, Talent Acquisition, and Accommodation to deliver a seamless employee experience.
  • Contribute to HR reporting, compliance audits, and cross-functional HR projects.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on employee relations cases, engagement activities, and survey results for management review.
  • Maintain and update employee records, disciplinary files, and engagement program documentation.
  • Draft official HR communications, memos, and notices for circulation to employees and managers.
  • Assist with HR audits, compliance checks, and policy updates.
  • Support payroll and benefits teams with necessary employee information related to disciplinary actions, contract changes, or employee status.
  • Handle scheduling of interviews, meetings, and HR events, ensuring logistics are properly coordinated.
  • Provide administrative support for cross-functional HR initiatives as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations, disciplinary procedures, or HR operations.
  • Experience in F&B, retail, or hospitality industries in the UAE is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, disciplinary frameworks, and HR best practices.
