Estimation Engineer (Civil)

The Role

Our International Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Civil Estimation Engineer to join their team in Dubai, UAE. Successful candidates will have extensive experience as a Civil Estimation Engineer working on major civil construction projects including mid / high rise residential, commercial, mixed use and mall / retail building projects. Only candidates who have worked for a recognised main contracting company previously will be considered

This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 month contract position, outsourced through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare cost estimates.
• Develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective project execution.
• Conduct site visits and feasibility studies to assess project requirements.
• Research and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
• Identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities in project planning.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, reports, and bid proposals for client presentations.
• Ensure estimates comply with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
• Maintain a database of costing information, market rates, and historical data for reference.
• Support post-tender activities, including negotiations and contract finalization

Requirements

Estimation Engineer Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in construction cost estimation, quantity surveying, or tendering for a recognised Main Contracting Company.
• Proficiency in estimation software (AutoCAD, Primavera, CostX, etc.) and MS Excel.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple project estimates simultaneously.
• Knowledge of local regulations, codes, and contract terms related to civil engineering projects.
