Estimator (Custom Packaging)

The Packaging Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for packaging jobs (such as cartons, boxes, printing, corrugated material, labels, or custom packaging). The role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of packaging materials, and the ability to interpret designs, drawings, and specifications to determine production costs.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for packaging products including materials, printing, die-cutting, lamination, finishing, and labor.
• Analyze customer requirements, drawings, and specifications to determine accurate cost breakdowns.
• Calculate machine time, manpower requirements, and production costs based on company standards.
• Estimate costs of raw materials such as paperboard, corrugated sheets, inks, adhesives, films, foils, and packaging accessories.
• Update and maintain a pricing database for materials, labor, and services.
• Ensure quotations are submitted within agreed timelines.
• Communicate with the production, procurement, and sales teams for accurate cost inputs.
• Maintain all estimation files, cost sheets, and job records.
• Update costing templates and systems with revised material rates and machine parameters.
• Prepare estimation reports for management review.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Printing Technology, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

1–3+ years of experience as an estimator in packaging, printing, or manufacturing.
