ESTIMATOR HVAC and ELECTRICAL

The Estimator is responsible for assessing residential and commercial HVAC and electrical projects to produce accurate, competitive cost estimates. This role splits time between conducting on-site field evaluations and performing in-office calculations, blueprint reviews, and proposal development.

• Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
• Location: Staunton, VA (On-site & In-office)

Key ResponsibilitiesOn-Site Field Operations

• Visit customer locations to evaluate project requirements and constraints.
• Take precise measurements and document existing field conditions.
• Consult with property owners and general contractors to understand their project vision.

In-Office Analysis & Estimation

• Perform material take-offs from architectural blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Calculate total project costs including labor, materials, equipment rentals, and permits.
• Utilize estimating software to generate formalized, itemized client proposals.

Collaboration & Communication

• Coordinate with project managers and field technicians to verify labor timelines.
• Present and explain completed estimates clearly to clients to secure contracts.
• Monitor industry material costs to maintain profitable and competitive corporate bidding.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Proven experience in construction estimating; specific HVAC or electrical estimation is highly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical components, and structural building codes.
• Math & Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical capability to calculate margins, material volume, and labor hours.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer-service mindset.
• Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record for company travel.
