Job Role
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for joinery projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, materials, and labour requirements. This role ensures competitive pricing while maintaining profitability and supports the sales and project teams with technical and financial insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and subcontracted work.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
- Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and tender documents.
- Identify risks, value engineering options, and cost-saving solutions.
- Work closely with project managers and designers to ensure accurate project costing.
- Revise estimates as required based on design or scope changes.
- Support sales team with technical input and pricing proposals.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Joinery Estimator.
- Strong understanding of joinery materials, hardware, and production processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and architectural plans.
- Proficiency in estimation software or Excel.
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and strong time-management skills
