Job Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience as a server or in a similar kitchen role is often required, particularly in high-volume or fine-dining settings.
- Multitasking & Organization: Ability to manage multiple orders under high pressure.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication to manage communication between staff.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of cooking times, safety, and plating techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Order Management & Coordination: Organizing food tickets, coordinating with chefs for cooking times, and calling out orders to the kitchen staff.
- Quality Control & Finishing: Inspecting dishes for proper plating, temperature, and accuracy before they leave the kitchen.
- Final Touches: Applying final garnishes, cleaning up plates, and preparing garnishes like lemon twists or parsley.
- Communication: Communicating special requests, modifications, or food allergies between customers and cooks, and ensuring smooth service during busy periods.
- Runner Coordination: Calling for servers or runners to pick up completed meals and delivering them to the correct table.
