External Audit Director (CPA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee multiple external audit engagements from planning to completion.
  • Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with IFRS/GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to audit teams and clients.
  • Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of contact for key accounts.
  • Identify and assess audit risks and develop appropriate audit strategies.
  • Ensure timely delivery of audit reports and high-quality client service.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop audit managers and senior auditors.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposals and client presentations.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards, laws, and regulations and ensure proper implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to internal quality control standards and firm policies.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent (mandatory).
  • Minimum 10–15 years of external audit experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience managing large audit engagements and teams.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong client relationship management experience.
