Fabric Approval Officer

We are seeking an experienced Fabric Approval Officer to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience specializing in knits fabric inspection or working within dyeing and finishing units. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and suitability of fabrics used in the manufacturing of basic shirts, sweatshirts, polo hoodies, track suits, and shorts. The successful candidate demonstrates a strong technical understanding of fabric properties, fabric inspection techniques, color and shade matching, and overall fabric approval processes critical to garment production. This position does not require managing a team but demands close collaboration with production and quality assurance teams to uphold product standards and delivery schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspection of knit fabrics to verify compliance with predetermined quality standards and specifications required for garment manufacturing.
  • Assess fabric quality by conducting shade matching and color consistency evaluations to meet design and production requirements.
  • Utilize technical fabric knowledge to identify defects, variances in texture or finish, and other issues that may impact garment production and end-product quality.
  • Apply fabric inspection techniques to approve raw materials and finished fabrics in both dyeing and finishing processes, ensuring fabric suitability for various garment types including shirts, sweatshirts, and track suits.
  • Collaborate closely with dyeing and finishing units to resolve fabric quality issues, communicate findings, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Document fabric approval results, maintain accurate records, and generate detailed reports to support ongoing quality control efforts and production planning.
  • Coordinate with product development and production teams to ensure fabric selections align with design criteria and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Monitor fabric performance throughout approval cycles to ensure consistent quality and compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks related to fabric quality or supply chain inconsistencies and propose proactive measures to mitigate these risks.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in fabric inspection, color matching, and textile technology to enhance the approval process and quality outcomes.
