Fabrication Manager (Joinery & Scenic) – Master Craftsman & Supply Chain Strategist

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Location(IMPORTANT): Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Comprehensive family visa and relocation sponsorship available)

About ADE

Since 2010, ADE has been the driving force behind the GCC's most ambitious events and exhibitions, transforming visionary concepts into tangible, unforgettable experiences. We are the trusted delivery partner for major national initiatives for clients like the Ministry of Interior, Saudi Electric, and the Makkah Route. Our integrated in-house capabilities—centered on our state-of-the-art Riyadh workshop—are our strategic advantage. As Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 fuels unprecedented growth in mega-events and giga-projects, we are seeking a dual-threat leader: a master of the craft and a strategist of the supply chain to power our production division.

The Role: Where Craft Meets Strategy

We are not looking for a typical workshop manager. We are seeking a leader who embodies two roles: Master Craftsman and Supply Chain Strategist. You will be the guardian of quality for every physical structure we build and the architect of the resilient supply chain that makes it possible. In a market defined by resource scarcity and uncompromising regulations, your ability to strategically source compliant materials and manage complex logistics is just as important as your mastery of joinery. You will command our workshop, lead our craftsmen, and ensure that ADE's fabrication output is not only world-class in quality but also flawless in its compliance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Workshop & Production Leadership:

  • Take full ownership of the workshop's output, ensuring the successful fabrication of components for multiple concurrent projects, from complex exhibition stands for events like LEAP to large-scale scenic builds.
  • Implement and optimize production processes to handle the high-volume, fast-turnaround demands of the Saudi market, maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
  • Manage all workshop resources, including machinery, tooling, and personnel, ensuring a safe, organized, and high-performance environment.

Supply Chain Strategy & Procurement:

  • Develop and manage a resilient international and local supply chain for raw materials. This is a core strategic function. You will proactively source, vet, and build relationships with suppliers to avoid the material shortages that cripple projects in KSA.
  • Oversee all material inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels of critical, KSA-compliant materials.
  • Work with the procurement team to establish long-term contracts and negotiate costs without compromising on the mandatory quality and safety specifications.

Technical Excellence & KSA Compliance:

  • Act as the ultimate authority on fabrication techniques, from advanced CNC machining to traditional joinery and high-end finishing.
  • Enforce a rigorous quality control system, ensuring every item has structural integrity, perfect execution, and—most critically—strict adherence to technical drawings and KSA regulations.
  • Serve as our in-house compliance expert for all workshop output. You must have an in-depth, practical knowledge of SASO standards and Saudi Civil Defense fire codes (e.g., Grade "A" non-combustible materials) for temporary structures. Your sign-off confirms that our builds will pass inspection.

Team Development & Mentorship:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of carpenters, CNC operators, and finishers, fostering a culture of pride, precision, and continuous skill development.
  • Champion and enforce rigorous health and safety standards throughout the workshop.
  • Manage recruitment, training, and performance for all workshop staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in high-end joinery and scenic fabrication specifically within the events and exhibitions industry, with at least 4 years in a managerial role overseeing a large workshop.
  • Proven experience in strategic materials procurement and supply chain management, demonstrating the ability to navigate material scarcity and secure reliable supply lines.
  • Expert-level knowledge of materials and their compliance applications, with a deep understanding of fire-retardant specifications (e.g., M1, FR, Grade A) mandated by the Saudi Civil Defense.
  • Mastery of both traditional woodworking techniques and modern CNC manufacturing (including programming and operation).
  • Proven ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot complex technical drawings in AutoCAD or Vectorworks.
  • Strong leadership experience with a track record of managing production schedules, implementing quality control systems, and mentoring a team of craftsmen.
  • An unwavering commitment to creating a safe working environment.

Ideal Candidate Profile (Significant Advantages)

  • Direct experience working in the KSA/GCC market, with established knowledge of local material suppliers and first-hand experience with SCEGA/Civil Defense inspection processes.
  • Formal certification in workshop safety management (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
  • Experience with sustainable fabrication practices (sourcing sustainable materials, waste reduction programs), aligning with Vision 2030 goals.
  • Experience managing the logistics of installing large structures at venues across the Kingdom.
  • A portfolio that clearly demonstrates a range of complex, high-quality finished projects.

What We Offer: A Family-Centric, Global Package

  • A highly competitive, tax-free salary that recognizes your mastery of the craft.
  • A comprehensive expatriate benefits package including:
  • Transportation allowance.
  • Comprehensive international health insurance for you and your dependents.
  • Annual flight tickets to your country of origin.
  • The autonomy to lead and shape a critical division within a market-leading company.
  • The opportunity to build the physical components of landmark, Vision 2030 projects.

How to Apply

To apply, please send your CV, a portfolio with high-resolution images of your best work, and a brief cover letter.

In your cover letter, please address the following:

  • Describe your strategy for sourcing and securing a reliable supply of a specific fire-rated material (e.g., lumber, laminate) in a competitive market.
  • How do you ensure that every project leaving your workshop is 100% compliant with specific local fire and safety codes before it even reaches the site?
  • Include your salary expectations and earliest possible start date.
