Facilities Maintenance Manager
Summary:
The Maintenance Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance and facility operations for the entire organization. This role will ensure that our building, grounds, and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality including regulatory compliance with all city, state and federal requirements. A hands-on leader who can supervise maintenance staff, manage vendor relationships, and develop effective maintenance programs is critical to this role.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Plan, organize and direct the day-to-day facilities maintenance projects including electrical, plumbing, machinery, security, grounds and other facility related items.
- Provide management, mentoring and training to internal maintenance personnel.
- Review, develop and implement effective maintenance programs.
- Work closely with maintenance supervisor to prioritize equipment repairs and manage the completion of repairs in a timely manner.
- Implement and drive company preventative/predictive maintenance programs and adherence to these programs.
- Ensure the operational efficiency of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, and fire safety systems.
- Oversee required inspections and facilitate required corrective actions and repairs.
- Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers. This includes identifying qualified cntractors, negotiating contracts, securing quotes, and ensuring outsourced work is completed to company quality and safety expectations.
- Assist in developing budget for maintenance, repairs, and capital improvements including tracking expenditures as it relates to the maintenance facilities area.
- Ensure the facility and all equipment comply with federal, state, and local regulations and safety standards.
- Oversee all facilities projects and manage potential disruptions to the organization.
Qualifications:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
- Relevant certifications, such as a Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), are desirable.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A bachelor's degree in maintenance or facilities management, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications are a bonues (CFM, Certified Facilities Manager)
- 3-5 years of proven work experience as a facilities or maintenance manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical abilities and extensive knowledge of building systems, HVAC, CNC, welding, electrical, grounds and plumbing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a high degree of organization.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications, such as a Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), are desirable.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, or bend for extended periods while inspecting and repairing machinery.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination to operate tools and equipment during maintenance tasks.
- Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including noisy, hot, or cold manufacturing settings.
- Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights as necessary for equipment repair and inspection.
- Ability to focus on detailed tasks and monitor equipment performance for extended periods.
