The Plant Superintendent/Facilities Superintendent at an Early Production Facility (EPF) is responsible for overseeing all daily operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production. The role balances technical oversight, team leadership, and strategic planning to meet production goals and maintain equipment integrity.

Core Responsibilities and Duties

An EPF Plant Superintendent's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Operational Oversight: Managing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth production processes, meet targets, and optimize resource utilization. This includes planning production schedules and coordinating with maintenance, quality control, and logistics departments.

· Safety & Compliance: Enforcing strict adherence to safety regulations (such as Permit to Work procedures) and environmental standards. The Superintendent often acts as the plant safety officer, developing and maintaining safety and training programs and ensuring all staff are compliant.

· Maintenance & Integrity: Overseeing maintenance and repair of plant equipment, including managing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and implementing preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.

· Leadership & Personnel Management: Supervising, hiring, training, and evaluating plant personnel and department managers. This role involves fostering a productive and positive work environment and resolving operational issues or conflicts.

· Budgeting & Reporting: Preparing and managing the plant's budget, controlling costs, and analysing production data to identify areas for improvement. They prepare reports on performance metrics for senior management.

· Continuous Improvement: Implementing process improvements and methodologies like Lean Manufacturing to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality standards.

Key Qualifications and Skills

· Experience: minimum 15 – 20 years’ experience within oil/gas/water processing plants for an EPF role. At least 5-7 years of progressive management experience is required.

· Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.

· Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of oil and gas, produced water processing, machinery, and equipment, along with proficiency in production management software, CMMS, and MS Office Suite.

· Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are essential for managing a diverse team and interacting with all levels of an organization.

* This role is based in Iraq on a rotation basis - 6 weeks working/4 weeks off
