Family Law Attorney

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Law Attorney to join our dedicated legal team in Des Moines, IA. This is a full-time, in-office position for someone passionate about helping clients navigate life’s most challenging moments with professionalism, empathy, and integrity.

About the Role

As a Family Law Attorney, you will manage a full caseload from intake through resolution. You will handle matters such as divorce, custody, child support, adoption, and other family-related legal issues. This role requires strong litigation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional client service.

Your daily work will include:

• Representing clients in court and administrative hearings

• Drafting pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements

• Conducting legal research and preparing case strategy

• Managing depositions, discovery, and case documentation

• Advising and counseling clients through all stages of their case

• Negotiating settlements and maintaining client relationships

• Traveling as needed for court appearances (some out-of-county travel required)

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Active license to practice law in Iowa (required)

• Demonstrated experience in Family Law

• Strong knowledge of court procedures and filing requirements

• Skilled in client communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

• Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
