As a Family Law Paralegal, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth case workflows, accurate documentation, and effective communication with clients and stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, adoption, and spousal support matters
  • Conduct client interviews to gather essential case information and document relevant details accurately
  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and settlement agreements with precision and attention to detail
  • Manage case files using legal case management systems like iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all documents are organized and up-to-date
  • Perform legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategies and ensure compliance with applicable laws
  • Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and completeness; proofread all filings before submission
  • Coordinate with courts, clients, witnesses, and other parties to facilitate hearings, depositions, and meetings efficiently
  • Maintain meticulous records of case progress, deadlines, and correspondence to ensure timely follow-up
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, document management, and scheduling to streamline office operations

Skills

  • Proven experience as a paralegal in family law or related legal fields with strong knowledge of family law procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in legal research tools including Westlaw, LexisNexis, and iManage; familiarity with PCLaw preferred
  • Strong writing skills for drafting pleadings, correspondence, and legal summaries clearly and professionally
  • Exceptional proofreading and transcription abilities to ensure error-free documentation
  • Effective interviewing skills to gather comprehensive client information sensitively and professionally
  • Knowledge of estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law or other specialized areas is a plus but not required
  • Experience with document review processes and legal administrative systems such as Document Management Systems (DMS) or data entry platforms
  • Excellent phone etiquette combined with strong clerical experience including filing, record keeping, and administrative support
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
