Field Construction Manager Assistant – Electric (ID#6387)

We are seeking a Field Construction Manager Assistant – Electric to join our Power team in Rochester, NY. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing field construction activities, ensuring compliance with project schedules, safety standards, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Field Construction Manager and project leadership in daily field operations
• Monitor construction progress and provide regular status reports
• Conduct site inspections, track materials, and support documentation control
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and control centers to resolve on-site issues
• Maintain accurate logs, meeting minutes, as-built drawings, and project documentation
• Review contractor invoices and verify schedule adherence
• Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and incident reporting
• Support environmental compliance and regulatory reporting
• Track RFIs, design changes, and field modifications to ensure documentation accuracy
• Assist with project closeout activities and lessons-learned reporting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or 5+ years of relevant experience)
• Background in construction management, field engineering, or electrical systems
• Knowledge of SCADA, relay protection, or commissioning preferred
• Familiarity with safety and environmental compliance standards (CIP, FERC, NERC)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet site access requirements

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with documentation systems such as ProjectWise or SAP
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple field priorities
• Commitment to maintaining a culture of safety and quality on site
