Financial Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Financial Analyst

QUALIFICATIONS:

The person in this position should have the following credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Accounting concentration preferred)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience
  • Experience with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on projects
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

REPORTS TO:

This person is directly responsible to the Business Services Manager.

JOB GOALS:

Assist the Business Services Manager in monitoring the financial position of the School District on a day-to-day basis.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze and maintain the District’s vendor database in compliance with District, state, and federal guidelines
  • Analyze attendance data and collaborate with the Technology Department to ensure accurate student classification for reporting purposes
  • Support Student Activity Fund operations, including data verification, system implementation, and staff training
  • Assist with banking services, including monitoring bank accounts and initiating and approving electronic payments
  • Prepare and analyze cash flow projections to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet obligations
  • Maintain, review, budget endowment funds
  • Provide support for the District’s Purchasing Card and E-Pay programs
  • Research payments received by the District and ensure accurate posting to the General Ledger
  • Calculate Graduation and Charter School billing
  • Coordinate the collection of Booster Club registration documentation
  • Prepare investment reports for internal use
  • Record journal entries and maintain cash book records as needed
  • Calculate out-of-district tuition and ensure timely receipt of payments
  • Review departmental procedures and internal controls; recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance
  • Assist in implementing new processes to improve operational effectiveness and service delivery
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve Months with salary in Group K, Administrative/Supervisory Salary Schedule.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provision of the Board’s policy.

Pay: $56,889.00 - $95,899.00 per year

  • Governmental accounting: 5 years (Required)
