Financial Controller

<Duties>

  • Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger management, account reconciliation, and accounts payable and receivable processes using advanced financial software such as QuickBooks.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements pertinent to nonprofit, governmental, and public accounting sectors.
  • Lead the preparation of detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and regulatory filings with precision and clarity.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting processes, and cash management strategies to optimize liquidity and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records and identify discrepancies promptly.
  • Supervise the month-end and year-end closing processes while ensuring adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation related to general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls related to financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting standards to safeguard assets.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating current financial procedures and recommending enhancements for efficiency and compliance.
  • Support payroll processing activities ensuring accuracy in employee compensation records in accordance with applicable regulations.

<Qualifications>

  • Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong background in financial management within nonprofit or governmental organizations preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and familiarity with public accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms; experience with financial software integration is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cash management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including account reconciliation, account analysis, general ledger reconciliation, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with excellent written skills for comprehensive financial report writing.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data into clear insights for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are highly desirable. Pay: $91,329.50 - $109,988.22 per year
