Location: Workshop Floor Reporting To: SERVICE MANAGER
1. Position Objective
To lead the daily operations of the service floor, ensuring that all commercial vehicles (trucks, buses, and specialized units) are maintained, repaired, to best standards. The goal is to maximize workshop output while maintaining the zero-defect quality required for major clients.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Workflow & Work Management
- Daily Scheduling: Assign work orders to technicians, ensuring that high-priority units (like those for upcoming deliveries) stay on track.
- Process Oversight: Supervise the full work history of a vehicle in the workshop—from initial intake, work process & delivery
- Deadline Accountability: Ensure the team meets strict delivery time, specifically focusing on the turnaround time for fleet vehicles.
B. Technical Supervision & Quality Control
- Maintenance Integrity: Verify that mechanical servicing (engine, brakes, suspension) meets OEM specifications and safety regulations.
- Final Inspection: Personally perform a check on every unit before it is moved to the delivery bay to ensure work quality is good & perfect.
C. Team Leadership & Safety
- Manpower Allocation: Manage a multidisciplinary team (mechanics, washing and helpers), optimizing their time to prevent bottlenecks at the bay or service pits.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to workshop safety protocols, including chemical handling and proper use of lifting equipment.
- Training: Guide junior staff on efficient prep-work and simplified techniques.
D. Inventory & Resource Management
- Material Control: Monitor the consumption spare parts, and consumables to prevent waste and reduce reworks.
- Tool Maintenance: Ensure all workshop machinery and pneumatic tools are serviced regularly to avoid unplanned downtime.
3. Candidate Profile
- Experience: 4+ years in a commercial vehicle workshop, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or "Lead Tech" role.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in commercial vehicles servicing is essential. Knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanical systems is required.
- Management Style: A "firm but fair" leader who can communicate clearly in a fast-paced, multilingual environment.
- Reporting Skills: Ability to provide clear, concise status reports on unit progress and any potential delays.
4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-Time Delivery (OTD): Percentage of vehicles delivered on or before the promised date.
- Rework Rate: Number of units returned for corrections after the final floor inspection.
- Bay Utilization: Maximizing the number of vehicles serviced per day without compromising quality.
- Safety Record: Maintaining a zero-accident environment on the workshop floor.
Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
