Food & Beverage Supervisor

SUMMARY:

The Food & Beverage Supervisor is a professional with strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences. This role is essential in maintaining our high standards of excellence and guest service while overseeing daily operations across our restaurant, bar, room service, and pool deck. By delivering impeccable service, the Food & Beverage Supervisor will uphold La Bahia Hotel & Spa’s service standards (inspired by Forbes) while elevating our beachfront property.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Assist in supervising daily food and beverage operations including restaurant, bar, lounge, poolside service, room service, and banquet services
  • Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service standards that exceed luxury hotel expectations
  • Monitor food quality and presentation
  • Assist in overseeing poolside food and beverage service to ensure seamless guest experience
  • Coordinate with pool and recreation staff to maintain service standards in outdoor areas
  • Manage pool bar operations including beverage service, light fare, and poolside amenities
  • Ensure proper setup and maintenance of poolside service stations and equipment
  • Monitor poolside service timing to align with pool operating hours and guest patterns
  • Implement weather contingency plans for outdoor service operations
  • Oversee inventory management, cost control, and waste reduction initiatives
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
  • Manage opening and closing procedures for all F&B outlets when needed
  • Lead, train, and mentor food and beverage staff including servers, bartenders, poolside attendants, and support personnel
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions on service standards, wine knowledge, and menu updates
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional development
  • Interact with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain visible presence in dining areas to monitor service quality and guest experience
  • Handle guest complaints and special requests with diplomacy and efficiency
  • Collaborate with front desk and concierge teams to enhance overall guest satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions, allergies, and special meal requirements
  • Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement
  • Manage cash handling procedures and ensure accurate POS system operations
  • Control food and beverage costs through effective inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with all health department regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain current knowledge of California food safety laws and alcohol service regulations
  • Oversee proper sanitation and cleanliness of all F&B areas
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned as needed by your manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • (2/3) years or more minimum of supervisory experience in food and beverage operations, preferably in luxury hospitality
  • Endurance to stand for long periods and walk moderate distances.
  • Proficiency in property management systems preferred (Microsoft Office, POS system, OpenTable, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Capability to lift, push, and pull a moderate amount of weight (Up to 30lbs).
  • Flexible to work in different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
