Freelance Video Editor & Animator (AI-Savvy) - Remote

We are seeking a talented Freelance Video Editor to join our network of creatives. This is a remote, project-based role where you will handle post-production for a mix of long-form documentaries (15-40 minutes) and short-form reels (15-60 seconds). We are specifically looking for editors who embrace modern AI tools to speed up workflows and add high-end production value without the traditional grind.

What You'll Work On

• Documentary Style: Deep-dive video essays, movie-style documentaries, and educational content.
• Short-Form: Fast-paced highlights, cinematic reels, and teasers for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Editing: Assemble raw footage, b-roll, and audio into a cohesive story that matches the script or brief.
• Motion Graphics: Design custom animations, lower thirds, and kinetic typography to visualize complex topics.
• AI-Enhanced Workflow: Leverage AI tools to generate visual assets, enhance audio quality, upscale footage, or create placeholder voiceovers.
• Pacing & Retention: Edit with "hook" retention in mind—keeping viewers engaged for the first 30 seconds of a short or the first 5 minutes of a long-form video.
• Sound Design: Layer music, sound effects, and clean audio to create an immersive experience.
• Revisions: Implement feedback quickly and professionally to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

• Portfolio: A strong reel or collection of work showing both long-form (documentary/essay style) and short-form projects.
• Animation Skills: Proficiency in Adobe After Effects is required. You should be able to create motion graphics, not just cut footage.
• AI Experience: You actively use AI tools in your workflow (Examples: RunwayML, Midjourney, ElevenLabs, Descript, Topaz Labs, or Adobe Firefly). Please specify which ones in your application.
• Software: Deep knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro (or DaVinci Resolve/Final Cut Pro).
• Communication: Fluent in English (written and spoken) for understanding briefs and communicating via Slack/Email/Notion.
• Self-Management: Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage your own time in a remote environment.

Preferred Niches (Bonus)
