About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Import Clearance Officer / Clearing Agent who has strong practical knowledge of import customs clearance procedures in Pakistan. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with HS code classification, WeBOC operations, customs documentation, shipping line procedures, and delivery order handling.

The candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth and timely clearance of shipments while maintaining compliance with customs regulations and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

· Handle complete import clearance process from shipment arrival to final release.

· Prepare and manage customs documentation for clearance procedures.

· Perform accurate HS Code classification for imported goods.

· Operate and manage clearance activities through WeBOC system.

· Coordinate with customs agents, shipping lines, terminals, transporters, and internal operations teams.

· Handle shipping line procedures including Delivery Order (DO) collection and processing.

· Monitor shipment status, container movement, port activities, and clearance timelines.

· Ensure compliance with customs laws, SROs, valuation rulings, and import regulations.

· Resolve clearance-related issues including examination, detention, demurrage, and customs queries.

· Maintain records of duties, taxes, invoices, GDs, and shipment documentation.

· Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams for smooth cargo movement and delivery.

· Stay updated regarding changes in customs regulations, tariffs, and import policies.

Requirements

· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in import clearance and customs operations.

Strong practical knowledge of:

· HS Codes

· WeBOC System

· Import Documentation

· Shipping Line Delivery Orders

· Customs Clearance Procedures

· Port & Terminal Operations

· Understanding of Pakistan customs regulations and clearance workflow.

· Experience dealing with shipping lines, clearing agents, and customs officials.

· Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines efficiently.

· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

· Preference will be given to candidates having experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or DDP operations.

Preferred Skills

· Knowledge of valuation rulings and customs duties.

· Understanding of sea freight import operations.

· Ability to calculate duties and taxes.

· Experience handling commercial shipments and consolidated cargo.
