Front Desk Agent / Guest Service Agent – Hampton Inn

Position Title: Front Desk Agent / Guest Service Representative
Location: Hampton Inn - 350 Morris Ave, Denville, NJ 07834

Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Job Summary

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional guest service by greeting guests, processing check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and ensuring a positive guest experience throughout their stay. The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering Hampton Inn's hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Perform guest check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
  • Verify guest information, assign rooms, issue room keys, and explain hotel amenities.
  • Process reservations, modifications, and cancellations through the Property Management System (PMS).
  • Handle cash, credit card transactions, and balance daily transactions accurately.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries promptly.
  • Resolve guest complaints and service requests professionally and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance departments to ensure room readiness and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of room rates, promotions, hotel services, and local attractions.
  • Monitor room availability and accommodate special guest requests whenever possible.
  • Ensure the front desk, lobby, and work areas remain clean, organized, and professional.
  • Follow Hilton brand standards, hotel policies, and safety procedures.
  • Complete shift reports and other administrative duties as assigned. (Workstream)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous hotel front desk, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn hotel management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Cash handling experience preferred.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude.
