Front Desk Assistant (Dental Assistant Experience Preferred)

Overview
Our friendly and growing dental office is looking for a Front Desk Assistant with Dental Assistant (DA) experience who is comfortable supporting both the front office and back office when needed.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and working closely with a supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and check them in efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft
  • Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and follow-ups to optimize daily patient flow
  • Verify patient insurance details and process medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with medical imaging procedures including X-ray and documentation, ensuring proper infection control and aseptic techniques
  • Maintain accurate medical records, update patient histories, and handle medical coding for billing purposes
  • Support clinical staff with chairside assisting during procedures like prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry, including vital signs measurement and maintaining sterile environments
  • Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing correspondence, and coordinating with insurance providers

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control protocols
  • Experience with dental assisting tasks including chairside support, X-ray procedures, and aseptic techniques
  • Familiarity with medical documentation standards and HIPAA compliance to ensure patient privacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, fostering a positive experience
  • Knowledge of dental specialties such as prosthodontics or endodontics enhances your versatility in supporting diverse procedures
  • Understanding of medical imaging technology including 3D scanners and X-ray equipment is a plus
  • Qualifications:
  • Dental Assistant experience preferred
  • Front desk or dental office experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures

Pay: $24.53 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 32.0 per week
