Front Desk Receptionist

Herring Eye Associates is a small optometric practice in need of an experienced receptionist. If you are looking for a practice where you can learn and continue to grow as a receptionist, then this is the practice for you!

A candidate should have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently and the ability to be versatile in word stations.

_ Basic Duties _

  • Greeting patients at the front
  • checking in/out patients through our EHR scheduling system (transcribe information written by patient into EHR)
  • filling out basic patient demographic on encounter paperwork to be given to technician
  • booking appropriate appointment types per patient complaint, making sure schedule flow is balance based on patient demographics, reason for visit, and time allowed
  • pulling authorization for patients' benefits on their scheduled appointment day and saving them to individual patient profile through EHR
  • ability to speak confidently with patients regarding products we offer
  • checking voicemails and returning text in a timely manner
  • weekly cleaning in the office
  • place appointment reminder calls to the next days patients
  • ability to handle cash and manage a cash drawer to close out at the end of everyday
  • pricing out/ordering contact lens supplies

- Experience:

  • Computer Skills: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Organizational Skills: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Receptionist/Book keeping: 2 years (Preferred)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
