Position Summary
Are you passionate about coding, problem-solving, and building scalable systems? Join MENTISERA as a Backend Developer Trainee and play a key role in developing the backbone of our digital learning platforms.

This 6-month remote traineeship is designed for individuals eager to start their journey in software development. You will work closely with our tech team to design, develop, and optimize backend systems that power our EdTech solutions — while learning best practices in APIs, databases, and server-side logic.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development:
Assist in designing, coding, and maintaining the server-side of web applications using modern frameworks and technologies (e.g., Node.js, Python, Django, or Laravel).

Database Management:
Work with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.

API Development:
Support in building and integrating RESTful APIs for frontend and mobile applications.

Performance Optimization:
Help identify bottlenecks, improve system performance, and ensure scalability of backend services.

Collaboration:
Work with frontend developers, UI/UX designers, and project managers to deliver complete, functional solutions.

Testing & Debugging:
Assist in writing unit tests, debugging issues, and maintaining code quality standards.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of backend frameworks (Node.js, Django, or Laravel).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and database management systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have):

• Hands-on experience with Git/GitHub and version control.
• Understanding of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Firebase).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) or CI/CD pipelines.
• Previous experience on backend projects (academic or freelance).
