Furniture Painter

The Furniture Painter is responsible for mixing paints, matching colors, preparing surfaces, and applying paint as per the instruction from the Supervisor. He will also be responsible to examine the furniture and determine the extent of damage or deterioration, and to decide on the best method for repair or restoration.

Functions:

Your duties will consist of but will not be limited to:

1. Paint, repair and refinish furniture, woodwork, stained and varnished surfaces.

2. Maintain stock and inventory for the paints and other paint equipment and tools.

3. Maintain brushes and rollers in good condition.

4. Ability to use all safety precautions at all times when using tools, chemicals, ladders, or other potentially dangerous equipment or supplies.

5. Complete all assigned project in a timely fashion.

6. Handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor.

Skills:

· Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade.

· Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.

· Knowledge of text and display requirements for signage applications.

· Skill in the preparation and application of paints, stains, and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.
