Reports To: Production Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
The General Labor employee is responsible for supporting production operations by performing a variety of tasks related to manufacturing, packaging, material handling, sanitation, and product processing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform assigned production, packaging, assembly, and material handling activities.
- Follow established work instructions, procedures, and production requirements.
- Inspect products and materials for obvious defects or quality concerns.
- Assist with product packaging, labeling, palletizing, and staging activities.
- Move materials, ingredients, packaging, and finished products as directed.
- Assist with line changeovers, cleaning activities, and production startup procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSMA, Food Defense, Food Fraud, Allergen Control, Traceability, and Sanitation Program requirements.
- Follow approved procedures and work instructions.
- Immediately report food safety, quality, regulatory, customer, or product integrity concerns.
- Support the Company's commitment to producing safe, legal, authentic, and quality food products.
AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
- Stop work and notify supervision when food safety, employee safety, equipment, or quality concerns exist.
- Escalate food safety, quality, safety, and operational concerns to supervision.
- Remove suspect materials from use pending supervisory or Quality Assurance review.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or food manufacturing experience preferred.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Employees must demonstrate competency through a combination of education, experience, training, observation, testing, performance evaluation, and on-the-job verification.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
The General Labor employee must successfully complete all required company orientation, food safety, quality, regulatory, safety, and job-specific training programs as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a food manufacturing environment.
