General Laborer UG

We are seeking a General Laborer to join our team. Must be willing to work on a construction crew. The Laborer will be responsible for working at various job sites throughout the area and must be willing to work on a crew assisting in construction activities.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

• Drive Company Crew Truck to and from job sites
• Loads and unloads materials on trucks up to 100 lbs.
• Performs all phases of general and underground construction include but are not limited to: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment
• Restores and repairs all disturbed property including and not limited to: landscaping, concrete and asphalt
• Operates and/or works around equipment such as, Jack Hammer, Jumping Jack, Piercing tools, Roto Hammer, Cut-Off Saw, Portable Water Pump, Saws-All, pedestals, cables, plastic conduit, shovel, rake, sledgehammer, pipe wrench, wire cutters, bolt cutters, cable cutters, drilling shafts, etc.
• Maintains safe working habits/conditions at all times/adhere to company safety policy
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Works in and around operated machinery: backhoe, excavator, loader and compaction equipment
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, Bending, squatting
• Constant standing, lifting, twisting, walking

Required Skills & Qualifications:

General

• High school diploma or GED
• 3 years experience in telecommunications or underground utilities industry

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Must be able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions
• Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, up to 100 pounds
• Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other people and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
• Must be able to operate or workaround heavy equipment and machinery
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing work
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders
• Must be able to work in small/confined areas
• Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gear/PPE
• Must be able to successfully pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen
• Must have a valid California Drivers License

• Hourly; Non-Exempt

• Compensation based on L.O.E.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
