General Manager / Commercial Manager – Contracting

We are a growing UAE-based contracting company involved in construction and fit-out projects. We are looking for a senior, commercially driven manager who can lead operations and actively grow the business through industry relationships and market knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Growth

• Identify and secure new business opportunities in the UAE construction market
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with developers, consultants, and clients
• Lead prequalification, tender invitations, and client meetings
• Strategically decide which projects to bid on based on risk, margin, and capacity
• Support management in expanding the company’s market presence

Tendering & Commercial Management

• Review tenders, BOQs, drawings, and specifications
• Oversee estimation and pricing to ensure competitive yet profitable bids
• Negotiate contracts, variations, and claims
• Ensure strong commercial control and margin protection

Operations Oversight

• Supervise multiple projects through Project Managers and site teams
• Monitor project performance, timelines, and cost control
• Resolve escalations related to delays, claims, or contractual issues
• Coordinate with procurement, finance, and HR departments

Contract & Risk Management

• Review and manage contracts (FIDIC knowledge preferred)
• Handle claims, variations, EOTs, and dispute resolution when required
• Protect company interests and minimize commercial risks

Candidate Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• 10–15+ years of UAE contracting company experience
• Proven experience in both operations and business development
• Strong network with developers, consultants, and industry stakeholders
• Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong commercial, contractual, and negotiation skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering or Construction-related degree (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical preferred)
• Experience in main contracting or well-established subcontracting companies
• Valid UAE driving license
