General Manager – Works
Reporting To: Director / CEO
Profile Summary
A seasoned operations leader with 10–15 years of extensive experience in manufacturing operations, plant management, and industrial engineering. The General Manager – Works will be responsible for the end-to-end functioning of the manufacturing plant, ensuring operational efficiency, quality excellence, cost optimization, safety compliance, and timely delivery of products. The role demands strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, team development, and strong cross-functional coordination to drive continuous improvement and meet organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
§ Operations Management: Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing plant, including production planning, scheduling, quality assurance, and logistics.
§ Strategic Planning: Develop and execute plant strategies aligned with growth and operational goals.
§ Process Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM) to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve throughput.
§ Cost Optimization: Monitor and control operational costs, drive cost-saving initiatives, and ensure efficient use of resources.
§ Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards (ISO/TS/IATF) and regulatory compliances, maintaining Titan’s commitment to excellence.
§ Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and innovation.
§ Maintenance & Engineering: Oversee preventive maintenance, asset management, and engineering functions to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance.
§ Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Ensure implementation of robust EHS policies and compliance with all statutory and corporate requirements.
§ Customer Focus: Collaborate with supply chain and sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction through on-time delivery and high-quality standards.
§ Technology Adoption: Promote Industry 4.0 initiatives, digital manufacturing, and automation for future-ready operations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
§ Plant efficiency and utilization
§ OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
§ On-time delivery (OTD)
§ Quality metrics – rejection/rework rates
§ Cost per unit / cost savings achieved
§ Safety metrics – incident rate, near misses
§ Employee engagement and retention
§ Implementation of continuous improvement projects
Qualifications & Experience
§ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering
§ Master’s degree in Business Administration / Operations Management (preferred)
§ 15–25 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
§ Experience in consumer goods, precision manufacturing, or engineering industries is desirable
