The Government Relations Officer (GRO) will be responsible for managing all government liaison activities, ensuring compliance with UAE regulatory requirements, and handling all official documentation, permits, and approvals. The role also includes supporting Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) initiatives, overseeing company registrations, and coordinating with Civil Defense authorities for certifications, inspections, and renewals.
This role is for a UAE National only
Key Responsibilities:
1. Government Liaison & Compliance
- Liaise with UAE government departments including Municipality, Muroor, Civil Defense, and other relevant authorities.
- Ensure company compliance with UAE governance requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government policies, processes, and online systems
- Manage and renew company trade licenses, establishment cards, and other official registrations.
2. HSE Responsibilities
- Support the HSE department in implementing safety policies and ensuring compliance with UAE federal and local HSE laws and standards.
- Coordinate the submission and renewal of HSE-related permits and approvals with government entities.
- Assist in maintaining ISO and regulatory HSE documentation, audits, and inspections.
- Liaise with authorities such as the Ministry of Environment & Climate Change, Municipality, and Civil Defense for safety certifications and site inspections.
3. Civil Defense & Regulatory Affairs
- Handle all Civil Defense approvals, renewals, and inspections for company facilities and projects.
- Ensure all fire and safety systems are approved, certified, and maintained in accordance with Civil Defense regulations.
- Coordinate documentation and follow-up for Fire NOC, safety permits, and other compliance requirements.
- Maintain records of all Civil Defense correspondences and certifications.
4. Company & Project Registrations
- Manage registrations, pre-qualifications, and renewals with government entities, clients, and semi-government organizations.
- Maintain updated vendor registration databases with authorities
- Prepare and submit required documentation for company registration and project bidding eligibility.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all government correspondences, applications, and renewals.
- Prepare periodic reports on government transactions, license renewals, and compliance status.
Monitor expiry dates of official documents and ensure timely renewals to avoid penalties.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in government relations in the UAE (experience in construction / industrial / HSE sector preferred).
- Strong understanding of UAE Civil Defense requirements, and HSE regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic.
- Proficiency in MS Office and online government portals
- Valid UAE driving license.
