Grid Station Civil Engineer

Looking for an experienced Gird station Civil Engineer with over 15-20 years dedicated to the successful delivery of electrical substation projects.

A grid station Civil Engineer reviews the design, specifies, and oversees the construction of civil infrastructure for substations, including site preparation, foundations, buildings, roads, and drainage systems, while also ensuring compliance with regulations and coordinating with other departments. Key responsibilities involve creating detailed designs for substations and their surroundings, preparing tender and construction specifications, supervising contractors, and performing site inspections to ensure projects meet technical requirements and safety standards. Conduct soil investigations and ground resistivity measurements. Perform site inspections to gather data and monitor progress.

Review the substations building designs, foundations, and associated structures. Develop detailed plans for site clearance, backfilling, compaction, grading, and surfacing. Design internal roads, access roads, cable trenches, drainage systems, and boundary walls.

Incorporate considerations for equipment dimensions, ventilation, fire safety, and earthing into the designs. Oversee the civil engineering aspects of substation projects from planning through construction. Manage and supervise both internal and external engineering consultants and contractors. Develop and manage project schedule. Ensure adherence to engineering standards, company goals, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate effectively with managers in other departments to align project functions with overall company objectives.
