Position Summary: Oversee grower accounting, including advances, payables, settlements, shared expenses, reporting, cash flow projections, and reconciliation from the distribution side. Establish strong working relationships with growers as well as internal staff at all levels. Supervise and support team through guidance and performance management. This in-person role is based in the Great Los Angeles Area.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Oversee aspects of grower accounting including the management of processes related to:
- Advances, Payable, and Settlements
- Shared expenses including plants, fumigation, leases, taxes, supplies, and other related expenses
- Create, update, and maintain grower-related financial activities, including weekly reporting, cash flow projections, accounting, and account reconciliation
- Provides reporting, analysis on multi-million dollar grower loan portfolio
- Develop and generate weekly grower loan statement for each borrower
- Interface directly with grower management and growers
- Work closely with FP&A on grower settlement and payback projections
- Provide oversight and input to internal and external audits, financing projects, and process improvements
- Supervise and support team by providing guidance, oversight, and performance management
- Create and process vouchers for outstanding grower-related invoices
- Monitor and reconcile grower pass-through payments
- Solidify and manage the process that ensures grower receivables are paid by end of harvest
- Prepare and process grower supply breakouts and billings for third party vendors
- Prepare and process flush settlements
- Prepare and process grower payments, including advancements, settlements, and other related payments
- Research, troubleshoot, and resolve supply related variances
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications, Skills, Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ Years’ experience in accounting, or finance, directly related to agriculture, farming, or fresh produce industry
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger, Accounting Principles, Internal Controls, and Process Improvement
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analytics, reporting, and reconciliation
- Experience working with ERP systems to manage data
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast paced environment.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
